CD anthology — Speech of Angels
The genesis for the packaging was a quote from Thomas Carlyle, "Music is well said to be the speech of Angels; in fact nothing amoung the utterances allowed to man is felt to be so divine. It brings us near to the Infinite."
With this, a cover image was developed portraying the layering of ideas in the same way that ideas are layered in in the polyphony of Thomas Tallis or Palestrina.
The recordings themselves are a 5 CD anthology of "early music" from the vaults of the L'oiseau-Lyre [Decca/London records] catalogue featuring Philip Pickett and the New London Consort. >>
